Automated Music Show, Spring 1998

One of the rarest machines at the show was this pre-Columbia, Bell & Tainter "Perfected Graphophone".

This detail of the decal shows the early Washington address. The very first Columbia model 'A' machines also briefly had this early address, but most machines show the New York address.

This unique all-brass machine is an unlabeled "one-of-a-kind", perhaps an early prototype or merely a custom machine.

And speaking of unique, Tim Fabrizio, when not signing copies of his current book ("The Talking Machine: An Illustrated Compendium"), was researching and photographing for his NEXT book project!

Stay tuned to Nipperhead for an upcoming "sneak preview".
